Over the course of the last financial year, Maruti Suzuki sold 1,653,500 units posting a growth of 14.5 % YoY. To maintain this pace in the domestic market, the company intends to launch five new products over the next couple of years.
This information was shared by R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director- Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, reports Business Standard. The publication, however, does not specify which new models are part of the five.
As per previous reports, all-new new products planned for the current fiscal year include the 2018 Maruti Ertiga, an Ertiga-based crossover derivative, and the new generation Maruti Wagon R. A 7-seat version of the Wagon R is also in the pipeline. As far as updates of the existing models are concerned, the Ciaz is due in August.
In 2019-20, the next-gen Maruti Alto will touch down. A crossover-like rival to the Renault Kwid previewed by the Maruti Future-S concept is under development, based off the new Alto platform. The Suzuki Vitara has been spotted testing on Indian roads and it could arrive as a rival to the Hyundai Creta in 2019. By this time, mid-cycle changes for the Baleno and the Vitara Brezza would have reached the production line. Maruti is also reported to be planning a revamp for the Celerio (codename: Maruti YNC) this decade.

Among the upcoming Maruti Cars in India is a Suzuki badged version of the Toyota Corolla Altis. MSIL will sell the sedan as part of the recent agreement signed by the two Japanese giants.
