As last reported, the 2020 Hyundai ix25 has started reaching showrooms. Gearing up for the launch later this month, Beijing-Hyundai has taken journalists on the media drive of the all-new model, which, as IAB broke with exclusive spy shots in August, will be the 2020 Hyundai Creta for India.
The 2020 Hyundai ix25 can be pre-booked for a deposit of 1,000 yuan (INR 10,063.72), this clearly indicates that the SUV is just weeks away from its Chinese launch. Unlike what several other media websites have been reporting in India, the launch is yet to take place.
On the outside, the Hyundai 2020 ix25 adopts a fully revamped design which is too bold and extreme, especially when compared with its out-going model which is sedated by all standards. Also, it can't be denied that the internationally-selling Hyundai Palisade flagship SUV is definitely one of the biggest influences for the all-new ix25's exterior design. The latest model features a more prominent radiator grille flanked by vertically stacked modern-looking split LED headlamps. At the back, too, it has an offbeat light design, with vertically placed, split tail lamps. This new design is targeted at younger buyers.
Hyundai's intent to make the new-gen model more posh and upmarket is clearly visible as soon as you step inside the cabin. The all-new Hyundai ix25 features a freshly designed compact steering wheel, sleek horizontal central air vents and a large portrait-style central display which syncs the infotainment system and the climate control system under a single panel. Furthermore, the inclusion of a fully-digital instrument cluster with twin-segment screen and MID makes the proposition even more appealing. This panel displays current speed and fuel level on the left side, while the right side features a tachometer and engine temperature bar. Speaking of the new features, it now comes with a panoramic sunroof, electric parking brake with auto-hold function, a 360-degree camera system and much more. It sports four driving modes, namely Smart, Sport, Eco, Comfort. Along with that it also gets three terrain modes Snow, Mud and Sand.
The advanced driver assistance systems include Driver Fatigue Reminder (DAW), Lane Keeping Assist (LFA), Front Collision Warning Braking System (FCA), Lane Departure Warning (LDWS) and Full Speed Domain Adaptation Cruise (ASCC).
The 2020 Hyundai ix25 measures 4300 mm, 1790 mm and 1635 mm in length, width and height, respectively. It has a wheelbase of 2,610 mm. When compared to the outgoing model, its length and width have increased by 10 mm, the height has increased by 8 mm, and the wheelbase has increased by 20 mm. It features a massive 444-litre trunk which is claimed to be the largest in its class.
The 2020 Hyundai ix25 employs the G4FL 1.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine which delivers 84.4 kW (114.75 PS) and 144 Nm of peak torque. The fuel economy rating of this unit is up to 5.3 L/100 km (18.86 km/L), depending on the selected configuration. The driver can select from four driving modes, namely Smart, Sport, Eco, Comfort. Along with that the latest model also offers three terrain modes Snow, Mud and Sand.
