Will accompany hatchback and sedan bodystyles in the range.
Along with hatchback and sedan versions, Fiat will also introduce an estate bodystyle of the Fiat Tipo for European markets. Although no prototypes of such a model has been spotted testing, a rendering of the Fiat Tipo estate gives a good idea as to how it could possibly look like.
The Fiat Tipo (or Fiat Egea for Turkish market) measures 4500 mm long, 1780 mm wide, 1480 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2640 mm. The design of the Fiat Tipo was previewed by the Fiat Aegea concept in Turkey, featuring a wide grille, sleek headlamps, sculpted character lines, and a pair of wraparound taillamps.
Inside, the Tipo has a flowing dashboard with a silver accent running across it. There are buttons neatly arranged under the central HVAC vents, a 3-spoke steering wheel with buttons, Uconnect infotainment system with a 5-inch color touchscreen display, automatic climate control and Bluetooth connectivity.
As for engine lineup, the Fiat Tipo will pack a choice between two Multijet diesel engines: 95 hp and 120 hp 1.3 Multijet and 1.6 Multijet II diesel units respectively. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Apart from its main production and export from Bursa, Turkey, the Fiat Tipo will, reportedly, also be manufactured in Brazil and India, re-igniting rumors of its eventual introduction in India, although only the sedan bodystyle is likely to make the cut.
