The Fiat Avventura crossover was spotted on test by Facebook user, Mr. Rohit Chaudhary. Based on the Fiat Punto, the Avventura is a pseudo-crossover that will rival the VW Cross Polo and the recently launched Toyota Etios Cross.
The Avventura had its world debut at the Auto Expo in February this year. The car gets distinct design elements such as an exposed spare wheel, roof rails, projector headlights, skid plates and side plastic moldings. Inside, the Avventura comes with orange contrasts for the music system, gear lever and AC vents, apart from adding features like roll and tilt gauges.
Mechanically, the Avventura is expected to carry over engines from the Punto which gets 1.2- and 1.4-liter petrol engines and a 1.3-liter diesel engine. Interestingly, the Avventura displayed at the Auto Expo had a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Avventura will roll out of Fiat India's Ranjangaon manufacturing plant located in Maharashtra. The facility also makes the Punto and the Linea, apart from Tata vehicles like the Manza, Vista and Indica V2.
Aside from the Avventura which will launch before the festive season this year, Fiat India will launch the refreshed Punto and the Abarth 500 this year.
