AMW Motorcycles are all set to launch 4 CFMoto motorcycles on 4 July 2019. However, it is now time to ask the most pertinent question. Let me save some time for you and bring out the answer straight away. The bikes that will hit the market next month are going to be BS-IV compliant, not BS-VI compliant.
As you all know, India, unlike the European Union (whose emission standards we are trying to follow), will be jumping to BS-VI norms directly from BS-IV standards. The new norms are set to be applicable from 1 April 2020. Unlike the chaotic discount brigade seen in the last switch (BS-III to BS-IV), manufacturers are getting ready for the transformation beforehand. CFMoto is no different and has a plan for the same.
A source close to the development has revealed exclusively to Indian Autos Blog that BS-VI compliant CFMoto motorcycles will be released well before the deadline. In fact, all 4 motorcycles will be BS-VI compliant before the end of the present calendar year (by December 2019). These will include the CFMoto 300NK, CFMoto 650NK, 650MT and 650GT.

The CFMoto 300NK is a naked streetfighter and will be pitted against the likes of Honda CB300R and BMW G 310R. It will be the first bike in its segment to feature riding modes (rain and sport). The CFMoto 650NK will be taking on the Kawasaki Z650, Benelli TNT 600i and Suzuki GSX-S750. It will be positioned as a multi-terrain vehicle. AMW Motorcycles is betting big on this model and will be looking to get good numbers out of it.
CFMoto’s last product for the Indian market in phase 1 will be the 650GT. This is a faired tourer with features like dual riding modes and a 5-inch TFT instrumentation with self-adjusting backlight.
AMW Motorcycles have been testing CFMoto motorcycles in India since November and have stringent quality tests in place. The company is looking to price the products competitively and will be bringing in more models in the future. The first of these will be the CFMoto 300SR which will be introduced by mid-2020.
