In less than two months since its Indonesian launch, the Datsun Go+ has received over 3,500 bookings.
The Go+ in Indonesia is available in four variants - D, A, T and T option - similar to the Go hatchback in India. Prices start from 85 million Rupiah (INR 4.33 lakhs) and extend up to 102.9 million Rupiah (INR 5.24 lakhs).
The Go+ and Go hatchback share underpinnings, engine and gearbox. Power comes from a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine which is capable of producing 68 PS and 104 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission sends the power to the front wheels.
In India, Nissan will launch the Go+ in the festival season. The car was shown at the Auto Expo, and road tests of the Go+ have also commenced in India. The Go+ will become the second model for Datsun in India, which is to be followed by a new entry-level Alto rival next year.
When it goes on sale here, expect the Go+ to be one of the most affordable MPVs on the market. Thanks to a sub-4 meter length (the Go+ measures 3,995 mm long) and a 1.2-liter engine, the Go+ will be classified as a 'small car' in India, and hence gets an excise duty cut from 20 percent (for mid-size cars) to 8 percent.
