Just a few weeks after its global unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show, the 2014 Suzuki SX4 begins testing in China.
Here are the first set of spy shots of the test mule. Even though the car is fully disguised there is no mistaking the SX4's front fascia.
The new Suzuki SX4 is a huge improvement over its predecessor which was jointly developed with Fiat. The successor was previewed by the S-Cross concept at last year's Paris Motor Show.
The car is powered by 1.6 litre petrol and diesel engines. Suzuki continues to source diesel engines from Fiat. The crossover sports a newly developed All Grip 4WD system. Styling wise, the car is a typical Suzuki and has features like daytime LED running lights and the world's first double sunroof.
The interior has significant improvements in terms of design and quality of materials. The boot measures at a very useful 430 liters.
The Suzuki SX4 will go on sale globally in the latter part of this year. In China, the SX4 could make its debut at either at the Shanghai Auto Show next month or at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November.
Being a petrol loving nation, the Chinese spec version is most likely to offer only the 1.6 litre petrol option.
