A bare-bones Chevrolet Enjoy was caught testing by our longstanding follower Neeraj Setpal, who comes back to the front page of Indian Autos Blog after we published his images of the Magic Iris and Venture testing two years ago.
There are tons of pictures of the Chevrolet Enjoy, taken at its premiere at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo and during its pan India testing program. Neeraj's images are different as they show the base model which lacks alloy wheels, body colored mirrors and door handles, fog lights and metallic paint.
Weirdly GM India has been testing fully loaded Enjoys with black interior and entry-level variants with beige interior.
The Enjoy will be launched after the Sail twins have been deployed, so expect the launch to coincide with Diwali time. It will be powered by the same 1.3L Fiat-sourced Multi-jet engine and a modified 1.4L petrol engine, currently serving on the Aveo. The Enjoy's suspension was tuned by Lotus Engineering, credited with lending many Indian cars a magic carpet of a ride.
Our guess is GM India will not want to miss out on the market that the Enjoy inherently creates in the taxicab circles. There are many loyalists for the Tavera in this segment and for them, the Enjoy could be a perfect addition.
The Enjoy is a product of the SAIC-Wuling-GM partnership (marketed under the name Wuling Honguang) andwas developed for Chinese families who sought after an affordable van.
