BMW to launch all-new 3 Series in India on 22 August - Report

Following its debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, the all-new BMW 3 Series has been spotted in India on multiple occasions. Now, a new report says that the all-new mid-size sedan will be launched in the country on 22 August.

The all-new BMW 3 Series measures 4,709 mm in length, 1,827 mm in width and 1,441 mm in height.

The seventh-gen BMW 3 Series is sleeker, sportier and bigger than the outgoing model. The use of the CLAR platform has also resulted in a weight reduction of 55 kg. Starting off from the exterior looks, the 2019 BMW 3 Series will feature new Adaptive LED headlights with BMW Laserlight, a completely new front bumper with different fog lamp design and positioning, 19-inch alloy wheels and L-shaped LED rear lights which are completely new.

Like the exterior, the interior has been upgraded and is now much classier and more technologically superior. The new generation BMW 3 Series features BMW Operating System 7.0-based BMW Live Cockpit Professional with 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch Control Display and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant which replies to “Hey BMW” - a first for a BMW, and HUD (Head-up display) comprising of 70% larger projection area.

In terms of dimensions, the all-new 3 series measures 4,709 mm in length, 1,827 mm in width and 1,441 mm in height. In comparison to the old model, it is 76 mm longer, 16 mm wider and 1 mm taller. The wheelbase has grown by 41 mm to 2,851 mm. This also means that the occupants will enjoy slightly more space inside the cabin.

The 2019 3 Series features 'BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant', which recognises voice commands starting with “Hey BMW”.

The latest BMW 3 Series will be available in 330i and 320d engine variants, powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine (258 PS/400 Nm) and a 2.0-litre diesel engine (190 PS/400 Nm) respectively. Both engine variants will have a rear-wheel drive drivetrain layout and an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.

Expect the prices of the 2019 BMW 3 Series to start from over INR 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
