Bajaj Auto expects the Dominar 400 to be a 1 billion dollar brand in 12-18 months.
Bajaj Auto’s latest shocker, the Bajaj Dominar 400 has the potential to give a lot of manufacturers sleepless nights. Starting at INR 1.36 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), the bike is available via 80 showrooms across 22 cities. Here's a city wise price list of the machine.
Showcased first as the Bajaj CS 400 concept at the 2014 Auto Expo, the motorcycle has been eagerly awaited by both fans and critics. Powered by the 373.3 cc triple spark DTS-i mill coupled with a 6 speed gearbox and a slipper clutch, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is Bajaj’s most powerful machine yet. The engine is capable of producing 35 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 35 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm.
The aggressive price tag of INR 1.36 lakhs is something which as Mr Bajaj said, no one in the world offers so much motorcycle for so little money. The Bajaj Dominar 400 will be available the cheapest to customers in Gurgaon, Faridabad and Delhi. However, it is most expensive in Kolkata at INR 1.42 lakhs. West Bengal also charges the second highest road tax in the country which will make owning the motorcycle expensive.
The Bajaj Dominar can hit a top speed of 148 km/h and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.23 seconds. It also gets the option of a twin channel ABS.
