Bajaj will launch an all-new platform for the Bajaj Discover on October 15th in Pune. The launch will be followed by a press conference and we should get more details from Mr. K. Srinivas, President - Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto Ltd, who will preside over the event.
Regular readers may remember that the company announced a product blitzkrieg for this financial year. Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, had earlier confirmed two Pulsars and six Discovers for 2013. While details on these variants remain hazy, Mr. Bajaj had stated that the Discover 100 T was registering good sales numbers and that the company would capitalize on it.
Reports have also emerged that four of the six models would be priced in the range of INR 40,000 to INR 50,000, while the other two models would have their price tags between INR 50,000 to INR 60,000.
It was only in July this year that Bajaj launched the Discover 125 T, a cut-price version of the 125 ST. Where the 125 ST features a monoshock rear suspension, the 125 T gets traditional gas-filled shock absorbers. As a result, Bajaj was able to price the 125 T at a lower INR 52,500 as compared to the INR 56,026 price of the 125 ST (prices mentioned here are ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Currently, Bajaj sells five models based on the Discover. The lineup consists of the Discover 100, Discover 100 T, Discover 125, Discover 125 T and Discover 125 ST.
