In what’s the first-ever official confirmation about any of the Toyota Glanza's specs, here’s a document from ARAI giving out many of its details.
The document seen here confirms that the Toyota Glanza will indeed be available with Maruti Suzuki’s 1.2L VVT naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 61 kW (82.94 PS) at 6,000 rpm (and 113 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm), along with a CVT. This combination is said to return 19.56 km/l.
Reports say that two more mechanical configurations will be available in the Toyota Glanza. One will be the aforementioned engine linked to a 5-speed manual transmission with a fuel economy rating of 21.01 km/l. The other will be the donor car’s 1.2L Dual Jet Dual VVT petrol engine developing 66 kW (89.74 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. This engine will feature a dual-battery mild-hybrid system and be married to a 5-speed manual transmission. It will deliver 23.87 km/l.
As per the document seen here, there’ll be two equipment lines on offer, namely G and V. It is said that the G grade will be well-equipped with high-end equipment, including LED projector headlamps with light guide, 16-inch precision-cut dual-tone alloy wheels, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation and voice command functionality, height-adjustable driver seat, steering-mounted audio controls and LED rear combination lamps.
The V grade will reportedly be differentiated with LED projector headlamps with DRL and auto on/off and follow me home/lead to vehicle functions, premium LED rear combination lamps, UV cut glass, leather-wrapped steering wheel and reverse parking camera.

The Toyota Glanza’s launch is scheduled to take place on 6 June. It is said to come with a 3 year/1,00,000 km warranty as standard. The Maruti Baleno’s standard warranty coverage is 2-year/40,000 km. So, the rebadged car will be slightly costlier, and its prices may start at over INR 7 lakh (ex-showroom).
