Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd has announced that it has crossed a sales milestone of 25 million scooters in the country.
The Honda Activa was launched in India in 2001. It took 13 years for the company to reach the first 10 million sales of its scooters in the country. The second 10-million milestone was achieved in just 3 years, the lion's share belonging to the Activa. That said, the two-wheeler market and Honda's production capacity changed in such a way that the next 5 million Honda scooters were sold within 1 year.
Honda 2Wheelers India is the only scooter manufacturer in the country to cross a sales milestone of over 25 million units. The Activa attributes to over 32 percent market share in 2018. Celebrating this achievement, Mr Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said:

Honda’s vast scooter portfolio consists of the Honda Dio, Cliq, Activa and the Honda Grazia. Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India have a scooter market share of 57 percent in the country.
