Honda Grazia crosses the 2 lakh sales milestone

The Honda Grazia 125cc scooter has crossed the two lakh sales mark in the Indian market. The milestone was achieved in just 11 months into the launch. In September 2018, the Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler brand sold as many as 13,001 units of the Grazia in India.

The Honda Grazia gets a thumbs-up in the Indian market as the scooter has crossed the 200,000 unit sales milestone in 11 months. It gets full LED headlight, digital instrument console and an optional charging port.

The 125cc offering from Honda crossed the 50,000 unit mark in three months, making its debut in the ‘Top 10 Selling scooters of India’. In April 2018, the Grazia crossed the 1 lakh sales milestone. Apart from India, the scooter is sold to neighbouring SAARC countries and Latin America.

Speaking on the milestone achievement, Yadvinder Singh Guleria - Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said:

The Honda Grazia is offered in six colours and three variants. The trim levels are distinguished by steel and alloy wheels, and braking systems. They are:

  • Standard (steel wheels and drum brake)
  • Standard Alloy (alloy wheels and drum brakes)
  • Deluxe (alloy wheels and front disc brake)

The colour options are:

  • Neo Orange Metallic
  • Pearl Nightstar Black
  • Pearl Spartan Red
  • Pearl Amazing White
  • Matte Axis Grey Metallic
  • Matte Marvel BlueMetallic

The scooter features full LED headlamps for optimal illumination. The low beam uses two LEDs of 4.35W, and the high beam gets two LEDs of 8.7W. A utility pocket behind the apron can be used to store a mobile phone while a charging port is available as an option.

The scooter gets its power from a 124.9 cc single cylinder engine with fan cooling that also powers the Honda Activa 125. The motor is tuned to deliver 8.6 PS of maximum power at 6,500 rpm, and 10.54 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine mated to a CVT transmission.

Telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear perform suspension duties. For braking, it uses 130 mm drum on both ends while a 190 mm front disc is available as an option. Safety net includes combi-braking system (CBS) that is currently available as an option. However, from April 2019, manufacturers would have to equip their entire portfolio (below 125cc) with CBS as standard.

The Grazia competes against the Suzuki Burgman Street, TVS Ntorq 125 and the Aprilia SR 125.
