Just two weeks ago, the 2020 Renault Kwid was spied for the very first time. Now the facelifted model has been spied on test again, in Pune, Maharashtra.
Launched in 2015, the first-ever Kwid delivered outstanding sales to Renault initially, but it lost its charm as it started approaching the middle of its lifecycle. The facelift is aimed at bringing the SUV-inspired city car back into the game. There'll be some noticeable changes brought with the MY2020 update, with cues borrowed from the Renault City K-ZE (Renault Kwid-based EV).
The 2020 Renault Kwid will feature a new radiator grille, two-tier front light setup, new lower grille comprising three horizontal slats, restyled bumpers, new wheel caps and tweaked tail lamps. Unlike the current model, it will flaunt LED DRLs, which is a premium feature in the A-segment. No major revisions are expected on the inside. At the best, maybe there'll be enhancements to the new MediaNav infotainment system and the instrument cluster, and fresh trim and upholstery.
The facelifted Renault Kwid will come with the BS-VI version of the old model's 0.8- and 1.0-litre SCe three-cylinder petrol engines. The 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual transmission will be carried over. The current, BS-IV version of 0.8- and 1.0-litre SCe three-cylinder petrol engines deliver 54 PS/72 Nm and 68 PS/91 Nm respectively.
