The company received a positive response at launch with bookings full until September. However, Classic Legends ensured proper dealership network before it commenced the deliveries of the motorcycles. Dispatches for the single-channel ABS variants began in March 2019. Classic Legends inaugurated its 100th dealership in April this year.
Regular readers would know that Classic Legends launched the single-channel (front disc/rear drum) variants of the Jawa Classic and Forty-Two at an ex-showroom tag of INR 1.64 lakh* and 1.55 lakh* respectively. The dual-channel ABS versions (front and rear disc brakes) are available at INR 1,72,942* and INR 1,63,942* respectively.
Both variants use the same motor and draw 27.37 PS of power and 28 Nm of torque from the 293 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder engine. The power mill uses a six-speed transmission, while the ARAI certified economy stands at 37.5 km/l.
The hardware specifications, apart from the braking setup, are identical on both variants. The shock absorption department comprises conventional telescopic forks at the front and twin-sided springs at the back.
Meanwhile, the launch of the Perak Bobber is coming closer. The third product from Classic Legends will be available for bookings from September this year. The company had announced the price for the Perak Bobber back in November 2018. The Perak Bobber, when launched, will retail at INR 1.89 lakh*.
