The 2019 BMW 3 Series (BMW G20) will hit the first markets on 9 March 2019. Soon after, in the middle of the year (April-July 2019), it will arrive in India, as per a new report from Autocar India.
The 2019 BMW 3 Series, which was spotted in India just days before its world premiere at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, is the seventh generation of the world’s biggest-selling premium car.
At 4,709 mm long, 1,827 mm wide and 1,442 mm high, the sports sedan is now 76 mm longer, 16 mm wider and 1 mm taller. While these improvements lend dynamically stretched proportions and a muscular stature, a 41 mm longer wheelbase (2,851 mm) has increased the legroom in the rear. With a higher usage of lightweight materials in the structure, the kerb weight has reduced by up to 55 kg.
The 2019 BMW 3 Series has a sharper and more youthful exterior and a classier and more technologically advanced interior. Adaptive LED headlights with BMW Laserlight, conjoined BMW kidney grille, slim, L-shaped LED rear lights, BMW Live Cockpit Professional comprising a 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch central display are some of the visual highlights of the car’s exterior and interior.
Internationally, the model variants include 320i, 330i, M340i xDrive 318d, 320d, 320d xDrive, 330d and 330e. In India, like in the case of the old BMW 3 Series, the range will include the 330i and 320d RWD model variants.
The 330i’s 2.0-litre petrol engine now delivers 258 PS (+ 6 PS) and 400 Nm (+50 Nm) of torque. The maximum power and maximum torque of the 320d’s 2.0-litre diesel engine have remained 190 PS and 400 Nm respectively. Once again, expect an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard in our market. In Europe, BMW offers the diesel mill with a 6-speed manual transmission as well.

The ever-increasing component costs and tariffs paired with the falling Rupee value will push the entry price further higher, to well over INR 40 lakh when the seventh-gen model arrives in mid-2019.
