Husqvarna Motorcycles has unveiled the Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 Aero Concept at the 2018 EICMA in Milan Italy alongside the production-ready Svartpilen 701.
The Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 Aero Concept is a semi-faired neo-retro café racer based on the production version of the Vitpilen 701. As compared to the stock bike which debuted at EICMA last year, the Vitpilen 701 Aero features a sporty semi-fairing and an engine cover along with a disc-type rear wheel with an 'Aero 701' body graphic.
The tail section on the Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 Aero Concept is slightly redesigned. The motorcycle is finished in shades of blue and white colours along with a dash of the signature fluorescent yellow and black stripes. Husqvarna claims that the Vitpilen 701 Aero is sportier to ride, with its aggressive ergonomics, low-set clip-on bars and the rear-set footpegs.
The Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 Aero Concept is based on the KTM 690 Duke platform and uses the same chassis, engine and suspension from the production Vitpilen 701. The motorcycle rides on lightweight 17-inch alloy wheels at the front and back that wrap on slick tyres.
The Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 Aero employs a 692.7 cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine that is tuned to produce 73.75 bhp of maximum power along with a peak torque of 72 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle comes with features like slipper clutch, traction control system and ride-by-wire throttle.
The Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 Aero Concept is unlikely to step into production anytime soon, and its Indian launch is highly unlikely. With that said, Husqvarna is expected to launch the Svartpilen 401 and the Vitpilen 401 in India by Diwali 2019.

The Vitpilen 701 is suspended by a steel trellis frame, while suspension hardware comprises 43 mm WP upside-down front forks and an adjustable mono-shock at the back. Anchorage is provided by a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear rotor, with standard ABS.
