Just a day after a grey Tata Harrier leaked online, IAB’s automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania has created renderings of the SUV in five different exterior colours including that shade.
The Tata Harrier is the homegrown automaker’s first production model to sport the Impact 2.0 Design, which is a sharper, more contemporary expression of the original version. It features strong proportions, clean, uncluttered surfacing and extraordinary details, such as the Euro-style two-tier front light setup and the new Tri-Arrow pattern.
The Tata Harrier sits on the new Omega modular architecture, which is a version of Jaguar Land Rover’s D8 platform adapted to suit local road conditions and market dynamics. Under the hood, it has FCA’s 140 PS 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbocharged diesel engine. Of course, this engine has a different branding at Tata Motors - Kryotec, a name inspired from Cryogenic rocket engine that has a reputation for its power and reliability.
The Kroytec diesel engine will send the drive to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Tata Motors will source the latter from Hyundai, and is unlikely to offer an AWD system in the new flagship SUV.

The Tata Harrier is likely to make its first official appearance, to the media, next month. Pre-bookings opened for an amount of INR 30,000 yesterday and sales will likely commence in January 2019.
Prices may start at around INR 12 lakh (ex-showroom), putting the SUV right between the premium B-SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks and the Jeep Compass C-SUV.
