Hero MotoCorp has extended its scooter portfolio in the Indian market with the launch of the Destini 125. The scooter has been launched in India at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 54,650 for the Lx variant and INR 57,500 for the Vx variant. The new Destini 125 will be available across Hero dealerships in Delhi-NCR from October 23. The retail sales for the scooter in other markets across the country will commence over the next few weeks.

The scooter made its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo as the Hero Duet 125. Spy images of the scooter, shot in August 2018, revealed the new Destini 125 branding.
The Hero Destini 125 comes equipped with Hero’s proprietary i3S (Idle Stop-Start System) technology that is aimed to deliver better fuel efficiency. The claimed fuel economy stands at 51.58 kmpl. The Destini 125 uses Hero MotoCorp’s 124.6 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, Energy Boost engine that is tuned to deliver a maximum power of 8.70 bhp at 6,750 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine can propel the scooter to a top speed of 85 km/h.
Drum brakes (130 mm) on both the ends provide stopping power. Safety net of Integrated Braking System (Hero’s combi braking system) will come as standard.
The feature list on the Destini 125 includes dual-tone mirrors, semi-digital instrument cluster with service due indicator, remote key opening, tubeless tires and external fuel filler cap. Mobile charging port and boot light come as standard equipment on the Vx variant. The premium variant of the scooter also gets chrome chest, side chrome garnishes, cast wheels and dual tone-seat covers.
LED headlight is not currently available, and the Destini 125 continues to use a halogen illuminator.
The Hero Destini has a fuel tank capacity of 5.5 litres. It measures 1809 mm in length, 1154 mm in height, 729 mm in width and tips the weighing scale at 111.5 kg. The wheelbase is 1245 mm long while the ground clearance is 155 mm tall. Telescopic forks at the front and spring-loaded hydraulic damper at the back perform suspension duties. The 10-inch wheels are wrapped in 90/100 section tyres.

The Destini 125 will compete against the Suzuki Access 125, Honda Activa 125, and the Vespa LX 125 in the Indian market. The scooter will be available in four colour options - Noble Red, Chestnut Bronze, Panther Black and Pearl Silver White.
