2018 Datsun GO (facelift) launched in India at INR 3.29 lakh

With the peak of the festive season just around the corner, Datsun has launched the updated GO and GO+ for the Indian market. The 2018 Datsun GO (facelift) is available with prices starting from INR 3.29 lakhs while the GO+ can be purchased for INR 3.83 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi). The hatchback will compete against the likes of the new Hyundai Santro, and the Tata Tiago to name a few.

The 2018 Datsun GO receives exterior and interior upgrades. This is, however, a facelift and thus the hatchback continues to feature the same mechanical specifications as its predecessor. Therefore, under the hood is the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that is tuned to deliver 68 PS of maximum power at 5,000 rpm and 104 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission while an AMT gearbox is not available at the moment.

Visual upgrades to the exterior include revised fascia with updated headlamps, new radiator grille, body coloured ORVMs and redesigned front bumper. The daytime-running LEDs have been integrated into the new bumper and are surrounded by black garnishing. Sides reveal the new 14-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.

A significant change is seen on the inside. The hatchback now gets a first-in-segment 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay Connectivity. The new dashboard also features revised air-con vents. Apart from the addition of the new infotainment system, the Datsun GO also gets driver-side airbag and ABS as standard. The passenger side airbag is only available in the top-spec variant.

The new Datsun GO also gets new colour options. Thus, over and above the earlier five colour choices – Blue, Ruby, White, Silver and Grey – the hatchback can be purchased in Amber Orange and Sun Stone Brown.

Please note that the prices are introductory. As reported in October 2018, bookings for the Datsun GO had started for a token amount of INR 11,000.
