Ahead of its launch on 9 October, the 2018 Datsun GO and GO+ have been revealed through a set of official images and details. Among the highlights of the refreshed models is a first-in-segment 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The 2018 Datsun GO and 2018 Datsun GO+ have been updated on the lines of refreshed versions that are already on sale in Indonesia. While the India-spec models feature most of the updates that the Indonesian counterparts offer, there are some disparities. The budget offerings are available with a sporty body kit in the South East Asian country. India, however, won't have this option.
The Indian-spec 2018 Datsun GO and 2018 Datsun GO+ will offer a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In comparison, the Indonesian models feature a smaller, 6.75-inch display.
The exterior of the updated duo carries a set of updated bumpers that hold LED DRLs, a more upright hexagonal grille and 14-inch alloy wheels. The facelift models will be available in two new colours - Amber Orange and Sunstone Brown. While the Indonesian models get wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators, the Indian version misses out on this feature.
Inside, the refreshed Datsun GO and Datsun GO+ have a new dashboard with closable glovebox and rectangular AC vents replacing the circular ones in the centre. The 2+1-like front seats have been replaced with individual bucket seats. This has allowed the company to reposition the handbrake from the lower dashboard to the middle of the front seats. The instrument panel now houses a tachometer as well.
Powering the 2018 Datsun GO and the 2018 Datsun GO+ is the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that propels the outgoing model. The motor outputs a maximum power of 68 PS @ 5,000 rpm and a peak torque of 104 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Unlike the Indonesian version, the India-spec model won't be sold with an optional CVT.
The updated duo will offer a new standard safety net, which includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and BA, rear parking sensors, driver SBR and Follow-me-home escort lights.
