While they may not be the most popular type of motorcycle in the market, here is a list of 6 most affordable faired motorcycles in India under INR 2 lakh.

Suzuki Gixxer SF

The Suzuki Gixxer SF is the full-faired version of the Gixxer naked motorcycle. Apart from the fairing, it comes with features like single-channel ABS and fuel injection. The Suzuki Gixxer SF starts at INR 90,451 and goes up to INR 1,00,630 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top-end FI with ABS variant.

Powering the Suzuki Gixxer SF is a 154.9 cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor with SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology. The engine is capable of pumping out a maximum power of 14.60 bhp at 8,000 rpm while generating a peak torque of 14 Nm at 6,000 rpm. A 5-speed transmission works in sync with the powertrain.

Since its introduction in India in 2008, the Yamaha R15 has reached a cult status in the domestic market and is one of the best selling faired motorcycles in India. The bike is now in its third generation, with the launch of the Yamaha R15 V3.0 at the Auto Expo 2018 in February. Yamaha recently introduced the YZF-R15 V3.0 MotoGP Edition, priced at INR 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Yamaha R15 V3.0 employs a 155 cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection that is capable of generating 19 bhp of maximum power at 10,000 rpm while developing 15 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. The YZF-R15 V3.0 is the only bike in its segment and in this list to feature variable valve actuation (VVA) technology and a slipper clutch assembly.

Bajaj Pulsar RS200

The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 takes design inspiration from the Bajaj Pulsar SS400 Concept, which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2014. The Pulsar RS200 is the first Bajaj motorcycle to receive a single-channel ABS unit, while it is also the most powerful and fastest Pulsar yet. The bike features dual projector headlamps, semi-digital instrument cluster, and LED DRLs.

The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 sources power from a 199.5 cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine with digital triple spark ignition. The Fuel-injected motor produces 24 bhp of maximum power and 18.6 Nm of peak torque, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike costs INR 1.26 lakh for the non-ABS model and INR 1.38 lakh for the ABS variant (both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi).

The Yamaha Fazer 25 is a full-faired entry-level tourer from India Yamaha Motor that is based on the Yamaha FZ25. While the design of the fairing is polarising, Yamaha says it has chosen function over form. The motorcycle features LED headlamp and taillight, digital instrument cluster and disc brakes at both the ends.

The Yamaha Fazer 25 costs INR 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and competes with the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. The Fazer 25 uses a 249 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that produces 20.3 bhp of maximum power at 8,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 20 Nm at 6,000 rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

Honda CBR250R

Priced at INR 1.64 lakh and INR 1.94 lakh for the non-ABS and ABS variants respectively, the Honda CBR250R is one of the most expensive faired motorcycles in the list. The 2018 CBR250R comes with features like full-LED headlight, semi-digital speedometer, LED taillight and optional ABS.

The Honda CBR250R sources power from a 249.6 cc, single-cylinder motor with fuel injection and liquid cooling that couples to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine churns out 25.7 bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 22.9 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm.

KTM RC200

The KTM RC200 is the most expensive faired bike in this list at INR 1.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). However, it is easily the most feature-rich as well. It comes with twin projector lamps, all-digital instrument console, USD forks and an aluminium swingarm. That said, it misses out on ABS, which is available as an option on the Honda CBR250R and the Bajaj Pulsar RS200.

Powering the KTM RC200 is a 199.5 cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that produces 25.5 bhp of maximum power at 10,000 rpm and 19.3 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. A 6-speed transmission works in harmony with the motor. Anchorage comes from disc brakes at both the ends.
