Indonesian publication Moto Blast has created speculative renderings of the upcoming 2019 Yamaha Xabre (2019 Yamaha M-Slaz), which was recently spied on test runs.
Based on the spy images, the rendering depicts the new ‘dragonfly’ headlight cluster with LED elements, redesigned tank shrouds, new engine under-cowl and the revised tail section. Indonesian media sources claim that Yamaha will rename the Xabre to MT-15. The rendering illustrates the strong MT-series genes on the 2019 Yamaha Xabre (2019 Yamaha M-Slaz). The headlamp cluster of the 2019 Yamaha Xabre will feature a low-set main beam. It is likely to get twin pilot lamps above the headlight.
The Yamaha M-Slaz (Yamaha Xabre) is a naked roadster version of the Yamaha R15. It sources power from a 149 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled FI engine that is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The motor is capable of producing a maximum power of 16 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 14.3 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The 2019 Yamaha M-Slaz could use the 155 cc motor from the new R15 V3.0 and come with features like VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) and slipper clutch.
The Yamaha Xabre features 37 mm upside-down front forks and an adjustable mono-shock at the back. It comes with 17-inch 10-spoke lightweight alloy wheels shod with 110/70-section front and 130/70-section rear tubeless tyres. Braking performance is aided by 267 mm front and 220 mm rear disc brakes with radially mounted callipers. The motorcycle has a ground clearance of 164 mm and a seat height of 805 mm.
