In yet another leak, clear spy images of the upcoming 2019 Yamaha Xabre 150 facelift (Yamaha M-Slaz facelift) have been leaked by Facebook user M Nashrul Aziz. Rumours are rife that Yamaha will rename the motorcycle the Yamaha MT-15.
The 2019 Yamaha Xabre 150 will reportedly receive mechanical upgrades in addition to the cosmetic changes, and the new spy images add fuel to those reports. The design of the Xabre 150 (Yamaha M-Slaz) test mule is in-line with the design language of the new generation MT-series bikes. The motorcycle receives a design overhaul with the new ‘dragonfly-like’ LED headlamp cluster, redesigned fuel tank with extended tank shrouds, and a lowered tail with a single-piece seat.
The 2019 Yamaha Xabre 150 will most likely share suspension components, chassis, and wheels with the current-gen model. The new Xabre 150 is likely to employ a 155 cc, Yamaha R15 V3.0 sourced engine with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) and slipper clutch. On the R15, the fuel injected, single cylinder motor produces 19 bhp of power and 14.8 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed transmission.
That said, the current-generation Yamaha Xabre 150 uses a 149 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve engine with fuel injection that pairs to a 6-speed transmission. The motor produces 16 bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm along with 14.3 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The motorcycle comes shod with 37 mm upside-down front forks and preload adjustable mono-shock at the rear.
Braking force is provided by a 267 mm rotor at the along with a 220 mm disc at the back with radially mounted brake callipers. The Yamaha Xabre 150 rides on 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels that run on 110-section front and 130-section rear tubeless tires from IRC.
