Czech motorcycle maker Jawa has unveiled its retro-modern racer, the 2018 Jawa 350 Special in Europe.
In celebration of Jawa’s racing history dating way back in the 1960’s, the brand has made the 2018 Jawa 350 Special. The design of the motorcycle harks back to the legendary vintage racers, complete with a vintage-style fairing with round headlamps, bar-end mirrors and low clip-ons. The footpeg position is rear-set for sporty ergonomics.

The 2018 Jawa 350 Special has a 397 cc single cylinder air-cooled heart with fuel injection. Pairing with a 5-speed transmission, it generates 27 bhp at 6,500 rpm, and 30 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The motorcycle has a top speed of 128 kmph, and weighs 160 kg. The frame rides on telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. Brakes include discs on both ends, with a single-channel ABS up front. The estimated cost of the motorcycle stands at GBP 5,295, OTR in UK; and the bike will be launched around June-July, this year.
Mahindra has a 60-percent stake in Classic Legends Private Limited (CLPL), a subsidiary of Mahindra and Mahindra. The Indian company acquired BSA through CLPL in 2016, and obtained licenses for the Czech brand Jawa. The first Jawa bike will reportedly enter our shores in 2019; and will reportedly share the engine platform with the Mahindra Mojo.
