Jawa is a legendary Czech motorcycle brand that has a long history and eventful in the Indian market. The brand had presented in India during the 1970s-1980s and launched some iconic bikes here. However, Jawa then left the Indian market until 2018 when Mahindra acquired Jawa and reintroduced it to Indian customers.
By the time of its revival in India, the Jawa had just launched the new 350 OHC in the international market. It was introduced as Jawa’s first bike to come with a four-stroke engine. Before that, Jawa only employed two-stroke motors. Jawa 350 OHC marked the departure of the brand from its old two-stroke past and carried on with a cleaner 4-stroke version.
Jawa 350 OHC is not available in the Indian market at the moment
The rumour about the launch of the 350 OHC in India started to go around as Mahindra confirmed the reentrance of Jawa to our market. However, as it turned out, Jawa launched other three models, Jawa 300, Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak in November 2018. Jawa 350 OHC is still available today in the European market.
Jawa 350 OHC receives inspiration from the icon 350 Type 634 two-stroke of the company that was on sale in the 1970s. Powering this bike is a Euro-IV-compliant 397.2cc single-cylinder air-cooled overhead camshaft (OHC) engine that is manufactured by Shinrey, a Chinese company. This engine churns out 27.7 BHP at 6,500 rpm and 30.6 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The motor is paired to a 5-speed transmission.
Jawa 350 OHC gets front telescope forks with gaiters and rear dual-shocks. In terms of safety, it is offered with a 280 disc brake upfront and single-channel ABS. However, the rear wheel only comes with a 160 mm drum unit. The retro bike gets a 19-inch wheel up front and an 18-inch unit for the rear.
There is no information about the launch of the Jawa 350 OHC in India. As for now, the retro-bike brand is expected to launch the Jawa Adventure and Jawa Cruiser in the year 2021-2022.
In the international market, Jawa 350 OHC is on sale at the price of around Rs 2.6 lakh.
