Bajaj Auto has pulled down its entry-level Pulsar, the Bajaj Pulsar 135 LS, from its official website in India.

Bajaj Pulsar 135

As per Thrustzone’s sources, the Bajaj Pulsar 135 LS will only be made for the export market. The website reports that the brand has discontinued the bike in the local market due to the fact that it will become prohibitively expensive as the ABS norm for bikes with engine capacity of 125 cc and above kick in. Bajaj last updated the bike in March 2017, to comply with the new BS-IV emission norms.

As a part of the 2017 update, the bike received a new toe-heel shift lever, a matte black heat shield and a single-piece seat with grabrail. The bike uses a 134.66 cc, 4-valve, DTS-i mill with air cooling. Pairing with a 5-speed gearbox, the engine produces 13.56 PS at 9,000 rpm; and 11.4 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The bike tips the scales at 121 kg and has a ground clearance of 165 mm.

Brakes include a 240 mm disc up front and a 130 mm drum unit in the rear. The bike has an eight-litre fuel tank; and can accelerate from standstill to 60 km/h in 5.1 seconds. The Bajaj Pulsar 135 LS gave customers an affordable entry into the Pulsar family, without compromising on frugality. The brand will now launch the updated Pulsar 150 soon. The bike has already started entering the dealerships in the country.
