The Hyundai i30 has been spotted on public roads in India yet again. The new images shared on Facebook by PowerDrift are of the same test mule that has been photographed on multiple occasions in the past.
The 1.6D badge on the tailgate indicates that it is fitted with the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine that is available in 95 PS/280 Nm, 110 PS/280 Nm, 136 PS/280 Nm and 136 PS/300 Nm versions. The test mule does not bear any camouflage. This may indicate that Hyundai is running the i30 to carry out component testing. Hyundai is unlikely to have plans of launching the car in India any time soon as a hatchback with a starting price of around INR 10 lakhs will not find many takers.
Globally, Hyundai offers the i30 with 1.0L T-GDi petrol, 1.4L T-GDi petrol, 1.6L MPi petrol, 1.6L T-GDi petrol, 2.0L GDi petrol and 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engines. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. A performance-oriented version called Hyundai i30 N is also available. It employs a 2.0 L turbocharged engine packing 250 PS/275 PS and 353 Nm.
