Hyundai is developing a new city car codenamed ‘Hyundai AH2’, which will reportedly revive the Hyundai Santro nameplate this year. An IAB reader has shared spy shots of the 2018 Hyundai Santro that was spotted on test recently.

The 2018 Hyundai Santro is expected to arrive as a successor to the old Hyundai i10 and also a replacement for the Hyundai Eon.

The next-gen Hyundai Santro will have a more contemporary and dynamic design. Spy shots clearly show the influence of the Hyundai i10 in the car's proportions. Internally called ‘Hyundai Family Concept’, the new urban hatchback is expected to arrive as a successor to the first-gen Hyundai i10 (discontinued in 2017).

The 2018 Hyundai Santro is said to have a body bigger than the Hyundai Santro Xing, which measured 3,565 mm in length, 1,525 mm in width and 1,590 mm in height. Hyundai could offer it with 0.8- and 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engines. Along with a 5-speed manual transmission, customers will likely have an option for a 5-speed automated manual transmission instead of a 4-speed torque converter.
