The 2018 Mahindra XUV500 has been spotted testing on public roads for the very first time. A full body camouflage means the spy pictures do not reveal much about the Mahindra XUV500 facelift, though. It was spotted testing alongside the Mahindra TUV300 Plus and the SsangYong Tivoli based S201.
Despite the camouflage, the spy pictures reveal the new set of alloys that the XUV500 will get. These 10-spoke rims are quite similar in design to the ones worn by the XUV Aero Concept presented at the 2016 Auto Expo last February. In these images, the tail lamp profile and detailing appears to be identical to the current model.
Aside from cosmetic updates, the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 is expected to get a bump up in power output. According to a report, the 2.2 L mHawk diesel powering the SUV will churn out 170 hp, up from the current figure of 140 hp. Torque output is also likely to go up to 350-360 Nm. With the Mahindra Scorpio set for a power hike, the company would want its flagship SUV to stay ahead of its cheaper siblings in the power and torque department.
