Yamaha R3 price slashed in Vietnam

Yamaha R3 launched in Vietnam at VND 150 million and was later increased to its current VND 155 million tag.

Reports from Vietnam confirm that Yamaha Vietnam has reduced the price tag of the Yamaha R3 effective immediately. The reason cited on Vietnamese press is that the company aims to make the bike more accessible to build on the position it already enjoys.

The Yamaha R3 in Vietnam will have a new sticker price of VND 139 million for non-ABS Racing Blue paint scheme, a cut of VND 16 million.

The Yamaha R3 will be priced at VND 139 million but the price cut is only applicable on the non-ABS variant of the motorcycle. Previously this variant was priced at VND 155 million.

The Yamaha R3 is powered by a 321 cc twin-cylinder mill coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 42 PS of maximum power at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm. It gets a diamond frame and is suspended over standard telescopic fork up front and a monoshock in the rear.

Brakes in the Yamaha R3 include a 298 mm disc in the front and a 220 mm unit in the rear. Vietnam still does not have the new 2017 colour options on sale.

The 2017 colour options (launched first in the US) has not been introduced in Vietnam.

The Yamaha R3 has been temporarily suspended in India and the 2017 edition of the motorcycle is expected to be re-introduced in the country later this year.
