All-new Dacia Duster to be unveiled later this year.
Mecaplast, a French auto supplier, will make parts for the next-gen Dacia Duster at a new plant in Romania reports 0-100.ro.
The new plant, which will commence operations in October, will see an investment of 10 million euros, and by 2018, about 100 people will be employed to produce roof bars for the SUV. The Duster's roof bars are currently imported from the company's plant in Gebze, Turkey.
Speaking to the Romanian publication, Xavier Fouineau, Country Manager, Mecaplast, said that a new plant would be opened at a location between Pitesti and Mioveni.
The report further states that the second generation Dacia Duster (Renault Duster) will be introduced later this year. The all-new Duster will be longer than the current model and in 5- and 7-seat versions. Moreover, there will be two design versions, one with urban theme and one with an off-road theme. The new Dacia Duster could go on sale in Romania in January 2018.

The next-gen Dacia Duster will reportedly be offered with 124 bhp 1.2-litre TCe petrol engine and 130 bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine options, with the latter possibly replacing the current model's 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine. 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed Easy-R automated manual and 6-speed EDC automatic could be the transmission choices.
The Indian-spec next-gen Renault Duster will reportedly be launched in 2019.
