Clearest ever images of the upcoming 2017 TVS Apache RTR 160 (facelift) has been shared by an xBHP forum member. With styling in line with the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, the new Apache 160 gets an oil cooler with a carburettor.
The TVS Apache RTR 160 facelift gains the clear lens tail lamp and digital instrumentation seen in the RTR 200. The bike also moves to a monoshock rear suspension which should translate to better handling. The fuel tank with extension and exhaust canister are a direct lift from the Apache 200.
Spotted near TVS's Hosur manufacturing facility, the bike gets a single seat layout. However, the tail section misses out on the pseudo air vents near the pillion seat in the TVS Apache RTR 200. Brakes in the test unit are a disc up front and a drum at the rear. The present TVS Apache RTR 160 offers an optional rear disc brake, and the new version too can be expected with it.
The current TVS Apache 160 sources power from an air-cooled 159.7 cc mill. The engine delivers 15 bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 13.1 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The facelift with a BSIV compliant engine with an oil cooler is sure to get an output boost.
