Mr Siddharth said:
For us it’s too early to think beyond RTR. The brand is bigger than the product. There will be different products and variants for sure, but the brand has the job of growing the segment as part of the overall motorcycle story. As far as RTR is concerned, it has its own job to do. This brand (BMW) is only going to grow the market. The job of both the brands put together is to grow the market first. Sports bike is there for everybody, but performance brand like we have in RTR is something what we believe in.
Apart from the 313 cc TVS Apache RR 310S, which might be marketed as a sports tourer, TVS Motor Company will be launching the fuel injected and ABS version of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V by end July 2017. A faired or an adventure version based on the Apache 200 though is not on the cards.
The TVS Apache RR 301S is expected to be competitively priced with the base trim starting at under INR 2 lakhs.
TVS saw a growth of 20 percent in the TVS Apache RTR brand in the financial year 2016-17 and the average monthly volume retails around 32,900 units.
