Expected to be launched next year.
The third generation Mitsubishi Pajero Sport that was launched last year in Thailand was then reported by the British media to be under serious consideration for the UK market. In the latest, IAB reader Mark has captured the first spy shots of the 2017 Mitsubishi Shogun Sport in the UK, which indicates that the company is indeed planning a UK launch. Mark spotted this vehicle in Twickenham over a couple of days, and reckons its imported for both homologation and customer clinics.
The SUV bears the 'Pajero Sport' nameplate on the tailgate, but the registration plate reads 'Shogun Sport'. It was reported earlier this year that the Triton/L200 based SUV could go on sale in the country in November, but that deadline may not be met.
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, also sold as the Mitsubishi Montero Sport, is available with three engines internationally: 4D56 100 kW (134.05 hp) 2.5-litre diesel, 4N15 133 kW (178.28 hp) 2.4-litre diesel and 6B31 161 kW (215.82 hp)/154 kW (206.43 hp) 3.0-litre petrol. R5MB1/V5MB1 5-speed manual, R5AWF 5-speed automatic, R6M5A/V6M5A 6-speed manual and R8AWG/V8AWG 8-speed automatic are the transmission choices.
