Expected to arrive in India in 2017.
Following the leaked images of its exterior and interior design, first spyshots of the 2017 Maruti Swift (2017 Suzuki Swift) testing have surfaced online, courtesy of Carscoops. The car is expected to arrive in India in 2017, and will be based on the platform of the Baleno.
Although it's completely wrapped up, it's easily noticeable that the car's exterior falls inline with the model in the leaked image. The next Swift features an upright front-end with a gaping grille, new headlamps with LED DRLs and contoured front fenders inspired by the Suzuki Baleno. The rear-end has smaller taillamps with LED lighting and door handles on the B-Pillar.
The leaked images revealed the interior, which adopts a cleaner layout. It comes equipped with a new steering wheel, twin pod instrument dials, new center console design with circular HVAC vents, Smartplay infotainment system, and new HVAC controls.
Under the hood, the 2017 Suzuki Swift's petrol lineup could include the 1.2L K-Series, 1.4L K-Series and 1.0L Boosterjet engines. The 1.3L DDiS could be replaced with Suzuki’s self-developed diesel engine with a 1.5L displacement. Transmission options should include 5-speed manual, CVT and an AMT, depending on the market where it's sold.
