Bookings currently open for INR 11,000.
The 2017 Maruti Dzire has started arriving at dealership stockyards ahead of its launch on 16 May, judging by new photos from Team-BHP. Maruti Suzuki is officially accepting bookings for a token of INR 11,000, and prices are expected to be INR 50k-70k higher than the outgoing car which ranges between INR 5,35,483 and INR 8,57,534 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The 2017 Dzire is 3,995 mm long, 1,735 mm wide, 1,515 mm high and has a ground clearance of 163 mm. Compared to the outgoing car, it is 40 mm wider, 40 mm shorter in height and has a 7 mm lower ground clearance. The 3rd gen sedan rides on Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform derived from the Suzuki Baleno and is claimed to be up to 105 kg lighter than the outgoing Swift Dzire, while not compromising on structural rigidity.
The model spied is finished in the new Sherwood Brown colour option, and is the range-topping ZDI+ variant, so it comes equipped with LED headlamps with DRLs, fog lamps, 15-inch diamond cut alloy rims, keyless entry, LED-powered pilot lamps for taillights, chrome window underline, automatic climate control, 7-inch Smartplay screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a rear AC vent.

Underneath the hood, the new Dzire comes with either a 1.2L K12B petrol motor producing 84 hp and 115 Nm of torque, or the 1.3L DDiS turbodiesel motor with 75 hp and 190 Nm of torque. Both engines come equipped with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, and are capable of averaging a fuel mileage of 22 kmpl and 28.40 kmpl respectively.
