Continues to be the best-selling UV in India.
In last month's sales report, Maruti has revealed that they have dispatched 10,653 units of the Vitara Brezza, making April the best month yet for their first compact SUV. Maruti has sold over 120,000 units of the Vitara Brezza since the launch over a year ago, while overall bookings have crossed well over 200,000.
The Vitara Brezza is an overwhelming success for Maruti Suzuki' maiden attempt at an SUV, which continues to garner demand from customers buying their first SUV or upgrading from a compact hatchback/sedan. For several months in a row, the Vitara Brezza has kept the title of best-selling UV in India, despite being only available in a single diesel manual variant, which is powered by a 1.3L DDiS 200 motor paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is capable of averaging a fuel economy of 24.3 km/L.
Once the demand starts to subside, Maruti Suzuki could introduce diesel automatic and petrol variants, so as to appeal to new customer segments. Through Maruti, Suzuki will also export the Vitara Brezza to markets like Indonesia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Until then, the company will focus on reducing the waiting period for Indian customers, which currently stands at six months for the top-end variant.
