Most of the changes will be up front.
Motor Vikatan has finally managed to acquire a spy shot of the 2017 Mahindra Scorpio's rear-end, revealing new taillamps and a restyled bumper. The new Scorpio is confirmed to launch for sale in India this calendar year.
Although the camouflage still hides most of the taillamp design from prying eyes, an uncovered portion reveals the new graphic design. There is also camouflage wrap on the bumper as well, hinting at minor design changes. As for the front-end, a spy shot from yesterday revealed the restyled front fascia, which features a new grille with bolder chrome insert, new front bumper with vertical slats for the radiator grille. So far, all the test mules had basic steel rims, but expect the production car to have new 16-inch alloy rims.
There are no new details or spy shots of the Scorpio's interior, but expect an updated colour theme, upholstery and trim, as well as 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, EcoSense and Connected Apps picked from the 2017 Mahindra XUV500. Expect a set of jump seats for the third row.

Reports suggest that the facelifted Scorpio will receive the transverse version of the XUV500's 2.2L mHawk 140 turbodiesel motor, which produces 140 bhp and 330 Nm. Unlike the XUV500, reports state that the Scorpio will retain the 5-speed manual gearbox while the automatic variant recently discontinued will make a comeback with a more refined 6-speed Aisin automatic gearbox. With a more powerful motor, expect the fuel mileage to be slightly lower to the current version's 12 km/L average.
