The Bajaj V12 is a premium commuter which continues to use the metal from INS Vikrant.
Announced a few weeks back, BikeDekho reveals that more Bajaj dealerships have received the Bajaj V12.
The 124.6 cc mill in the Bajaj Discover 125 (which is borrowed by the V12) is capable of producing 11 PS at 8,000 rpm and 10.8 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine in the V gets a different crankcase cover and engine casing. The gearbox is expected to be a 5-speed unit. The Bajaj V12 will be positioned below the Bajaj V15 and above the Bajaj Discover 125.
The design philosophy is the same as the V15, including the unmistakable headlamp, fuel tank and rear seat cowl. The alloy wheels have a different layout than the Bajaj V15 and the front suspension gets a rubber cover. The suspension setup can be expected to be slightly softer than one in the bigger Bajaj V.
The braking system seems to be a drum setup all around. However, considering that the more affordable Discover 125 gets a 200 mm front disc as an option, even the V12 might just get it is as an option.
The Bajaj V12 is expected to be priced at INR 56,200 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The V12 comes on the back on the V15's success, which saw it sell 2 lakh units after 8 months from the launch.
