Out of eight, three of them are the Nissan GT-R, Nissan X-Trail and Datsun Go Cross.
A senior Nissan executive has divulged that the Japanese manufacturer plans to launch eight new cars in by 2021, under a new product strategy. This is to increase its presence in India, where Nissan has a market share of only 2 percent.
Talking about Nissan's new product strategy, Christian Mardrus, Nissan's chairman for Africa, Middle East and India was quoted saying:
The strategy now is more common platforms, common modules, common technology. No more cross-badging now as we may have done in the past. In the future we want to develop more Redi-Go and Kwid stories.
Out of the eight models, three of them are confirmed to be the Nissan GT-R, Nissan X-Trail and Datsun Go Cross. The other five could include the Nissan Kicks, next generation Nissan Sunny, Terrano and Datsun Go family. Of all models, the one that promises to make a difference is the Nissan Kicks, the company's newest compact SUV currently exclusive to the Brazilian market. Reports suggest that it could arrive in India within three years.
