Expected to launch in India in 2016.
Courtesy of Motoroids reader, Pritish Suryawanshi, spyshots of the India-spec Skoda Superb have surfaced online, revealing the interior design and color combination. The new Superb is expected to launch next year in India.
The all-black interior of the new Superb is well appointed and luxurious. It has a wood trim running across the dashboard, piano black center console with silver inserts, and a multifunction 3-spoke steering wheel. The center console houses a large touchscreen display with buttons on either side, and has controls for the heated seats and HVAC system. The rear legroom is a spacious 157 mm, which is apparent in the image depicting the rear seat.
It rides on Volkswagen’s MQB platform, and has an 80 mm longer wheelbase and 85 kg lighter kerb weight than the outgoing model. Its boot volume of 625 litres is the best in segment (which is an increase of 30 litres from the outgoing model). With the rear seats folded, the boot space can be expanded upto 1,760 litres.
The third-generation Superb is expected to offer the same powertrain options from the outgoing model, which includes a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine with 180 PS and 250 Nm, as well as a 2.0-litre TDI motor coupled with 190 PS and 400 Nm of torque. Both are paired to a DSG automatic gearbox.
