To launch in India this festive season.
The 2016 Skoda Rapid (facelift) has been spotted testing in Pune by IAB Reader, Sheriyar Shaikh, who managed to shoot a video of it. The facelifted Rapid is expected to launch this festive season.

The pre-production prototype has body-colored panels cleverly cut to hide the design changes of the new Rapid. Judging by the covered portions, it's expected to get new projector headlamps, redesigned bumper with a new radiator grille, longer Skoda butterfly grille and re-profiled front fenders. The rear-end doesn't appear to be featuring any significant changes.
As seen in previous spyshots, the interior of the new Rapid will have dual tone seat fabrics, and could source the latest equipment from the 2016 VW Vento such as rain sensing wipers, auto dimming IRVM, phone book/SMS viewer and Mirrorlink connectivity as part of a new Mirrorlink infotainment system for the PQ25 platform in India.

The facelifted Rapid's engine lineup is likely to retain the 1.6-litre MPI four-cylinder petrol and introduce an updated version of the 1.5-litre TDI four-cylinder engine. In the current model, a 5-speed manual gearbox is standard in both models, while a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and 7-speed DSG is available for the petrol and diesel variants, respectively.
