Will arrive in showrooms in 2016.
The facelifted 2016 Kia Cerato (sold in the U.S as Kia Forte) is expected to arrive in showrooms in 2016. Ahead of its launch, the Kia Cerato has been spotted testing in Death Valley, U.S.
A Kia spokesperson had divulged that the facelifted Kia Cerato will “be an almost new car – it’s a significant change,” to the media. From the spyshots, its clear that it will have a re-worked front-end with a new tiger nose honeycomb mesh grille, sleeker pair of projector headlamps and new bumper design. The back is also covered up, suggesting that Kia could makes some changes to rear-end as well.
Being a facelift, it may not get extensive mechanical updates under the hood. The facelifted Kia Cerato could retain the 1.8-liter MPI engine a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
Reports suggest that the 2.0 GDI engine will be replaced by the 175 bhp 1.6-liter T-GDi turbocharged gasoline engine from the new Hyundai Elantra, which is paired to an in-house 7-speed dual clutch gearbox.
