IAB reader, Mr. Afzal Ahmed, has photographed an undisguised 2016 Hyundai Elantra testing in Chennai, ahead of its market launch scheduled for August 23. The next gen Elantra will be locally assembled at Hyundai's factory in the outskirts of Chennai.
Dealerships have already begun accepting bookings for a minimum deposit of INR 25,000, and deliveries are expected to commence towards the end of this month or early next month. It could be priced between INR 15-18 Lakhs for the petrol variant and INR 16-20 Lakhs for diesel (ex-showroom).
Speaking of which, the new Hyundai Elantra will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The former is powered by a 2.0L MPI four-cylinder unit that produces 149 PS (146.90 hp) and 183 Nm of torque, while the latter will likely pack the 1.6L VGT four-cylinder unit with 136 PS (134.09 hp) and 306 Nm of torque.

Some of the features equipped include projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy rims, LED taillights, shark fin antenna, parking sensors, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay support, satellite navigation, automatic climate control, cruise control, rain sensing wipers and start/stop button.
