Market launch expected in early-September.
Dealerships have begun accepting bookings for the 2016 Hyundai Elantra in India for a deposit of INR 25,000. Indian Autos Blog contacted at least three dealerships of Hyundai India who confirmed the start of bookings for the new Elantra. However, an email to Hyundai Motor India's communications department went unanswered at the time of publishing this story.
Poised to launch in early-September, the new Elantra is expected to be manufactured at Hyundai's factory in the outskirts of Chennai. It has been spotted testing on Indian roads multiple times, with camouflage covering up an evolutionary exterior influenced by Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy. The new Elantra is 20 mm longer and 25 mm wider than the outgoing model.
Inside, the 2016 Elantra will feature a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, automatic climate control, cruise control, rain sensing wipers and start/stop button.
