The all new Figo hatchback will go on sale this year.
Ford India has a big plan for this year, which includes the launch of the new Ford Figo and the Figo compact sedan. While on sale in Brazil as the Ford Ka, the next generation Figo was spotted testing in India last year. Now, much like the rest of the market, it won't hurt Ford to include a slightly rugged looking version of the Figo, or Figo Cross, going by the trend.
IndianCarsBikes has released a speculative render of the same, suggesting a well executed job like that on the Fiat Avventura.
Ford India hasn't announced or hinted at a crossover version of the upcoming hatchback, and this is purely based on the possibility of such a product. On the outside, there's a strong two-tone treatment for the exterior, which includes black plastic panels. The bumper is largely a black unit, while the wheel arches and body moulding continue in the same colour as well.
The front bumper and the grille look more butch, while the body coloured treatment for bumper-extension, side skirts, and fog-lamp housing help break the monotony.
Based on the same platform as the outgoing car, the 2015 Ford Figo would see a new engine line up. The 1.2-litre petrol engine will be replaced by a fully-localised 1-litre petrol engine based on the EcoBoost but without a turbo. The diesel is expected to remain the same 1.5-litre unit, but with some modifications.

The new Figo will be manufactured at Ford's new facility in Sanand, Gujarat, alongside the Figo compact sedan, from April this year.
