Indian launch to happen reportedly in December.
The 2016 Ford Endeavour (2016 Ford Everest for the rest of the world) was nabbed in Thailand with a 3.2-liter five-cylinder diesel engine. This is the range-topping engine for the new Endeavour which is also announced to get a 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost petrol and a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel.
Ford India has imported the 3.2L variant of the new Endeavour for R&D purposes, while confirmation of a 2015 launch has already come. This engine is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission, and has power and torque outputs of 200 hp and 470 Nm. Drive is sent to all wheels via a new Terrain Management System which can be selected from various modes such as Normal, Snow/Gravel/Grass, Sand and Rock.
The new Endeavour works better off-road claims the company, thanks to its 225 mm ground clearance and water-wading capability of 800 mm. In other off-road aspects, the approach angle is 29 degrees, the ramp-over is 21 degrees, and the departure angle is 25 degrees.
