Gets refreshed interior and exterior.

Caught testing earlier this year in Northern Italy, the 2016 Fiat 500 (facelift) has been in the news for the last two months. Quattroruote has now released a digital mock up to show how the vehicle could look like.

Fiat 500 facelift rendering
Rendering of the Fiat 500 facelift shows a refreshed front end, and a better equipped interior.

At the front, the car gets a new bumper with a reshaped airdam. The lights don't feature the circular LED daytime running lamps as seen on the previous render, while the centre bulge that sports the Fiat logo and the chrome element is sleeker. Changes at the rear include LED taillamps and a new bumper with a chrome strip running across the width.

On the inside, while the overall dashboard layout remains identical, a larger touchscreen display sits in place of the single DIN unit of the current model. The AC vents are also repositioned and now flank the screen, while the steering wheel is new, too, with a flat bottom.

The infotainment system, called Uconnect in Fiat's lingo, will feature navigation and Bluetooth-based telephony, too, apart from the regular entertainment duties. A reverse camera system could also be added.

Engine options are likely to remain unchanged. These include a 0.9-litre TwinAir petrol (in two states: 85 hp and 109 hp), and a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel.

An Indian arrival for the 500 seems unlikely, but its high performance cousin, the Abarth 595 Competizione, is set to launch in the coming months.
